The Canton Public Library seeks to provide informational, recreational, and educational material in an accessible manner for the use of the residents of the Town of Canton. The library collects, organizes, preserves and administers its resources and holdings for the use of all residents, adult and juvenile. The library supports the ALA Freedom to Read Statement and the Library Bill of Rights. It promotes library materials and services throughout the community, including the schools, other town agencies and the business community. It cooperates in resource sharing, such as Interlibrary Loan in order to satisfy the individual needs of patrons and also cooperates with other local groups and agencies to further the best interests of the community. It utilizes appropriate technologies to maintain and improve library operations and services.
