There are three ways to make a payment toward your tax bills and sewer usage charge:

Option 1:

Make a check to the Town of Canton and mail it to PO Box 168, Collinsville, CT 06022. If you’d like a receipt, please mail your entire bill and a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your payment.
** You can make one check for all of your bills.

Option 2:

Pay in person by check (personal or cashier’s), money order, or cash.

Option 3:

Pay online. For a fee, you can pay your tax bill or sewer usage bill by debit/credit card or electronic check (EFT (check)). The convenience fee for debit card use is $3.95 per transaction and for credit cards, 2.5% per transaction.  The minimum fee is $2.  VISA debit cards are not accepted to pay sewer usage bills.  Convenience fees are non-refundable.  Interest and fees will not be waived if the website is inoperable for any reason.  If the website is inoperable, payments can be made at Town Hall or by mail.

Please note: If you have any past due balance, the payment you make today will be applied first to past due interest and changes the principal in accordance with CT law.  If you are unsure of the amount due and for the total pay-off, please contact the Tax Office.

To obtain DMV clearance, all motor vehicle taxes in your name must be paid in full in cash, by cashier’s check at the tax collector’s office or online with a credit (not debit) card (fees apply). If the new amounts are available for the supplemental list or next Grand List, these taxes must also be paid in cash for DMV clearance. Please contact our office with any questions.
