The Seniors Job Bank of CT is a nonprofit business located in room 216 in West Hartford Town Hall that is run by volunteers and a part-time office manager. SJBCT receives no revenue for its services; it is funded by donations from foundations, local businesses and philanthropic individuals.
How does the Seniors Job Bank work? SJBCT deposits in its data bank contact information on local, experienced senior workers who wish to find part-time work in the residential and business community. Each worker has been interviewed by the staff of the Seniors Job Bank and received security clearance. The areas of their competencies are recorded in the Job Bank.
What type of services are available? Residential: carpentry, painting, plumbing, cleaning, sewing, gardening, computer hardware and software assistance, home maintenance, handyman and homemaker. Business: accounting, bookkeeping, general office help, sales, tax preparation, computer software assistance, business and grant writing, engineering, and administrative assistance.
How to get help? Contact
SJBCT and follow the NEED HELP instructions. Email your request to SJBCT. Upon receipt, SJBCT will send you the names and contact information of eligible workers. The rest is up to you. Contact the workers, describe the job, select the worker, and agree on the hours and compensation.
