The Department of Social Services (DSS) provides a broad range of services to the elderly, persons with disabilities, families, and individuals who need assistance in maintaining or achieving their full potential for self-direction, self-reliance, and independent living. 2-1-1 Infoline

Connecticut’s free information and referral service. Simply by dialing 2-1-1, a toll-free number throughout Connecticut, callers can reach knowledgeable, multilingual staff and get information, referrals or seek help in a crisis. 2-1-1 operates 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

Emotional & Spiritual Care Hotline

The Salvation Army has set up an Emotional & Spiritual Care Hotline for anyone who needs a listening ear. Call 844-458-4673 from 9AM - 9PM seven days a week. Trained Salvation Army Officers and employees are available to talk, advise and above all pray for individuals and families. 

Elder Justice Hotline

The Attorney General's Office, in cooperation with the Coalition for Elder Justice in Connecticut has launched the Elder Justice Hotline - 1-860-808-5555, a new resource to help older adults in Connecticut seek information, assistance, and justice.
