Dear Residents,
I am emailing to share with you a vast amount of information on the history and present status of the plan to rebuild our Public Works Facility. The Board of Selectmen will be meeting on Wednesday, August 31st at 7:00 pm to vote on a resolution that would put the current proposal to rebuild the DPW Facility at its current location, 50 Old River Road, at a cost not to exceed $3.825 million, on the ballot for November 8th. In an effort to provide complete information on this proposal, town staff have prepared a Timeline going back to 2010, with links to extensive documentation on the current proposal and the three prior proposals that have been defeated. Additionally, there is a Frequently Asked Questions document, with answers to many of the questions that have been asked during this process. I hope you will take the time to review this material and become well-educated on this issue. Once a referendum question is set, town officials and town staff may continue to answer questions and provide information. However, per state election law, town resources cannot be used to advocate for or against a referendum question.
