First Selectman's Corner

On Wednesday, May 25th at 7:00 pm, in Room F of the Community Center, the Board of Selectmen will hold a Public Hearing on the proposal to rebuild the town’s highway garage at its current location, and the possible alternate sites identified by the Permanent Municipal Building Committee. The hearing will begin with a presentation on these reports, and then public comment will be heard. To ensure that everyone has an opportunity to be heard, each speaker will be limited to five minutes, so please plan your remarks accordingly.

At the conclusion of the Public Hearing, the BOS will continue with its meeting (see agenda here), and will hear from the various town agencies that have been invited to discuss their thoughts on the highway garage project. This “super board” meeting will be a public meeting, and you are welcome to stay and listen. However, no further public commentary will be taken at that time.

Please note, no vote will be taken by the BOS on the highway garage proposal during this meeting. The Board of Selectmen looks forward to hearing from the public on this challenging matter.
