The first St. Patrick’s Church was a wooden structure dedicated in 1852 on the site of the current rectory. It burned in 1925. Prior to rebuilding, a decision was made to reverse the positions of the church and the rectory. In 1936, the current stone church was completed with stone quarried in Glastonbury and interior cloister arches fashioned from beams of old nearby structures. At the time the first mass was celebrated in Collinsville the Catholic population was said to be twelve.
