2/23/2015 - 2015 Scholarship Applications

2015 SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS

Canton Dollars for Scholars announces that the application period for its 2015 Scholarships has begun. Applications are accepted online only, and will be accepted from February 1—April 15, 2015. Applicants must reside in the town of Canton, but do not have to attend Canton public schools. High school seniors in public, private, parochial or home-schools may apply. CDFS encourages all high school seniors living in Canton to visit the CDFS website at www.canton.dollarsforscholars.org to fill out their student profile and submit their applications. Top grades are not required! Many CDFS scholarships do NOT require great grades---most often the focus is on school involvement, service to community and to the greater good.
The central mission of Canton Dollars for Scholars is to enable a wide variety of students to pursue higher education beyond high school---whether it is the traditional two- or four-year college or vocational/trade school, certificate program, etc. CDFS is a division of the national organization Scholarship America, founded on the premise that town chapters like the one in Canton can help young residents of the town achieve success through higher education. We welcome volunteers and/or donations to further support students living in Canton. Donations may be sent to: CDFS, P.O. Box 671, Canton, CT 06019. Please contact chapter president Pat Maloy at patmaloy203@hotmail.com or Julie Rush at jdsbrush@comcast.net with any questions.
