3/15/2015 - Art Show at Canton Historical Museum

ART SHOW at CANTON HISTORICAL MUSEUM

The Canton Historical Museum has been the beneficiary of a collection of art
work by the late Nancy Douglass Cloutier, a well-known Canton artist and long time
member of the Canton Gallery on the Green. A reception and sale of her work,
unframed and reasonably priced will be held at the Museum, 11 Front Street in
Collinsville on Sunday, March 15th from 4-7 pm. The collection was donated to the
Museum to benefit the Museum’s Building Fund.

Canton Historian, David Leff, will present a biography of the artist and of her mother, Peg Douglass, founder of the Canton Gallery on the Green. Nancy’s daughter, Marji Rose will be available to answer questions and share remembrances. The event will include a reading of original poetry by Canton Poet Laureate, Joan Hofman. Live music will accompany attendees as they view the two floors of original artwork.

There will be a $5 admission fee which includes complimentary wine and cheese.
Proceeds will benefit the Museum’s Building Fund. This is a very special one time event and an opportunity to remember both a talented member of the Art World and a cherished member of the Canton community!
