6/17/2020 - Payment of Taxes

The Canton Board of Selectmen has adopted a tax deferral program. The program extends the grace period for the payment of property tax bills (real estate, business/personal property and motor vehicle) due July 1, 2020, until October 1, 2020.  In order to ensure sufficient tax revenues to pay expenses in the first quarter of the fiscal year, the Town encourages all who have the ability to pay within the normal 30 day grace period to please do so. It is anticipated tax bills will be mailed on June 19, 2020.

Tax payments can be:
Mailed to Tax Collector, P.O. Box 168, Canton, CT 06022-0168;
Dropped off in the drop box located directly behind Town Hall near the Board of Education Offices (anticipated to be installed by July 6, 2020);
Paid online (a transaction fee will be charged)
Made in person when Town Hall is open for limited hours.
