Milling and Resurfacing Project, Route 179 (North Canton Rd.) in Canton and Barkhamsted

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 179 (North Canton Rd.) in Canton and Barkhamsted, beginning Monday, July 17, 2017.

The project consists of milling, reclaiming and resurfacing a 3.29 mile segment of Rt. 179 (North Canton Rd.), in Canton & Barkhamsted. This project is scheduled to occur from Monday, July 17, 2017 to Wednesday, August 2, 2017.

Motorists can expect lane closures on Rt. 179 (North Canton Rd.) between Rt. 309 (West Simsbury Rd.) and the South Junction of Rt. 219 (East Hartland Rd.).

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (Monday through Friday).

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
