TOWN OF CANTON, CONNECTICUT
SPECIAL TOWN MEETING
Wednesday, June 7, 2017

Notice is hereby given to the electors of the Town of Canton and those qualified taxpayers lawfully entitled to vote in Canton Town Meetings pursuant to Section 7-6 of the Connecticut General Statutes that a Special Town Meeting will be commenced on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 7:00 PM in Room F located at the Canton Public Library & Community Center, 40 Dyer Avenue, Canton, Connecticut, to consider and take action on the following question:

1. Shall the Town of Canton adopt the Ordinance entitled “Tax Abatement Ordinance” which authorizes the Board of Selectmen to abate real property taxes on any housing to be used solely for low or moderate income persons or families pursuant to Connecticut General Statute Section 8-215?

Copies of the proposed new ordinance is available for public inspection at the Town Clerk’s Office and the Canton Public Library during normal business hours and can be viewed at the Town’s web site at www.townofcantonct.org.
