Part-Time Senior Center Coordinator Position


Town of Canton seeks applicants for part-time, 16 hour per week, Senior Center Coordinator. This position is responsible for planning and organizing a comprehensive program of recreational, social, health, wellness and cultural activities for citizens fifty-five years of age and older. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in social work, human services, gerontology or an Associate’s Degree in the same fields mentioned above with five (5) years’ experience working with senior citizens or a combination of education/experience is required.  $19.06 per hour; applications, resume and cover letter must be received by Friday, May 05, 2017 at 12:00 noon to Town of Canton, 4 Market Street, Collinsville, CT  06022. TEMPORARY Part-Time Teen Services Librarian

The Town of Canton seeks applicants for the temporary, part-time position of Teen Services Librarian.  Position will begin immediately and is expected to last approximately three to five months.  The temporary Teen Services Librarian will be responsible for staffing the desk in the teen area, providing reference and readers’ advisory services to students, planning and executing after-school programs for tweens and teens and will work with the Children’s Librarian and other library staff to plan teen programming and incentive programs for Summer 2017.  The successful candidate will enjoy and have experience working with tweens and teens (grades 4 and up); have strong knowledge of and enthusiasm about young adult literature and pop culture; be fluent with technology and be able to work well both independently and as part of a team.  Bachelor’s Degree and experience working with teens required.  $23.00/hour.  Position will be open until filled.  Direct completed Town of Canton application and cover letter to Town of Canton, 4 Market Street, Collinsville, CT 06022.
