Flags to Fly Across CT for National Donate Life Month

Canton is one of over 100 CT municipalities, hospitals and organizations promoting organ and tissue donation awareness by flying Donate Life Flags during April, National Donate Life Month.

Connecticut's flag flying campaign began in 2009 and is part of a national initiative, Flags Across America, to honor and celebrate the hundreds of thousands of donors and recipients whose lives have been affected by organ and tissue donation.

With more than 121,000 people in America waiting for a transplant, and 1400 in Connecticut alone, the need for donation has never been greater.  Canton is proud to partner with Donate Life Connecticut residents on the Donor Registry in order to help save lives in our community.

"Becoming a donor is one of the most generous decisions a person can make to help others," says Canton First Selectman Richard Barlow.  Connecticut residents can register to save lives two ways; when renewing their driver's license or by visiting the secure online website, www.DonateLifeNewEngland.org.
